Our commitment

This website aims to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA, and most of its text meets level AAA. We test with keyboards, screen readers and zoom.

On this website

  • The typeface, Atkinson Hyperlegible, was designed by the Braille Institute for people with low vision
  • Text is at least 16 pixels, and you can zoom to 200% without anything breaking
  • Every part works with a keyboard, and you can always see where you are
  • Pages work with screen readers. Pictures that carry meaning are described in words
  • Colour is never the only way information is shown
  • We write in plain English, at about a Year 6 reading level
  • Pages are small and load on a weak phone signal
  • Quick exit, or Esc pressed twice, leaves the site straight away
  • Animation is minimal, and stops if your device asks for less motion

At the centre

  • Step-free entrance and wide doors
  • Hearing loop at the front desk
  • Free interpreters for any language.
  • Assistance animals are always welcome
